Hi, I’m Albert (pronounced Al-bear). I ride motorbikes and I make films.
Vikings are very cool no? That whole idea of getting together with your mates, pointing the longboat to the horizon and setting off looking for plunder - it’s genius!
I did a quick stocktake of what I knew about vikings and this is what I came up with;
- They come from somewhere in north Europe.
- They have names like Sven and Helga.
- They wear horned helmets and carry big battle axes.
- They appear in operas by Wagner and on heavy metal t-shirts.
- They sail around in longboats doing rape and pillage.
- They are all blonde - men like hairy bears, women tall and beautiful.
- They have some connection to the Lord of the Rings.
I know there has to be more to the viking story than this so I’m going for a ride to see what I can find out. Want to come? Well break out your horned helmet, and hop in the longboat, we’re off to find some adventures! Into the Land of the Vikings!
